Emma, Senior Manager Engineering and Michael, Product Engineer

We are Emma and Michael – a part of the global Bosch Sensortec engineering team. Although having a very different background and experience as well as different personal situations, we both found in Bosch Sensortec an attractive employer fitting to our individual needs. We recommend BST to anyone looking for high-paced, technical work in a motivated international team. Especially if they want to have fun!

Emma:

I have been working for Bosch Sensortec since 2014 as manager of an engineering group responsible for products in ramp up and mass production. I find the diversity fascinating – in the morning you can be dealing with a supplier issue for a “legacy” acceleration sensor in China and then be planning new processes for gas sensors by lunchtime. In the afternoon I maybe discuss personal goals with one of my associates during a career and development dialogue. At the end of the day I enjoy family time with my husband and my two children.

Michael:

Before joining Bosch Sensortec in 2015, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in a chemistry group in the field of organic electronics. By education, I am a physicist and hold a PhD in electronic engineering focusing on optics and materials science. At Bosch Sensortec, I got the chance to put my interdisciplinary experience into best practice.

Emma:

Before I moved to Bosch Sensortec, I was a team leader, and before that a project manager at various Bosch automotive divisions working on a variety of sensor platforms. I have a masters degree in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, with a specialization in systems control and sensor applications. I wanted to spend some time studying abroad, and this program let me spend a year in Germany at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen. It was a big cultural difference at first, but I liked the experience so much that after my degree I applied for jobs in Germany and have been with the Bosch group since 2002.

Michael:

I am a product engineer and in my current position I act as an interface between engineering and mass production. Our products are highly sophisticated and, therefore, we often face complex cause and effect relationships in our daily business. It is great to work in diverse teams across the globe. I appreciate most my highly motivated colleagues and the very supportive working environment. Our communication culture is very open and targets are clear for the entire company. Therefore, I can definitely recommend working at Bosch Sensortec.
