Barometric pressure sensor BMP581

BMP581

The BMP581 is the new benchmark in the field of barometric pressure sensors and is ideally suited for a wide range of altitude tracking applications like GPS modules, wearables, hearables, smart home and industrial products. This sensor is available via our distribution partners.

More about BMP581

Building on the excellent performance and low power consumption of previous generations of Bosch sensors, our new BMP581 now delivers an entirely new level of accuracy.

Dr. Stefan Finkbeiner, CEO at Bosch Sensortec

Technical specifications:

BMP581 has a typical current consumption of (typ.) 1.3 µA @ 1 Hz for pressure and temperature.

The absolute accuracy is ± 30 Pa (typ.) between 300 – 1100 hPa, -5 – 65 °C.

The TCO (temperature coefficient of offset) of the BMP581 is ± 0.5 Pa/°C (typ.) between 300 – 1100 hPa, -5 – 65 °C in 10 K steps.

The relative accuracy is ± 6 Pa (typ.) of the BMP581 is 700 – 1100 hPa, 15 – 55 °C, in 10 kPa steps.

The pressure noise of the BMP581 is 0.21 (typ.) PaRMS in OSR set to “high resolution”.

Availability of BMP581:

BMP581 is available at all our distribution partners. You can find a list here on our website.

Frequently asked questions

You have questions regarding the new barometric pressure sensor? Have a look at the frequently asked questions:

BMP581 has 2 small lid holes with only limited protection against water, but BMP581 is much more protected against particles compared to BMP388 or BMP390.
