BHI385

Programmable AI sensor with extended-g range

The BHI385 from Bosch Sensortec is a fully programmable, high-performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) designed for demanding motion tracking in sports, fitness, and gaming applications. With an extended measurement range of ±28 g, it accurately detects even the most dynamic movements, making it ideal for fitness trackers, smartwatches, and other wearables.

This compact system integrates a gyroscope, accelerometer, 32-bit microprocessor, and embedded AI software into one device, built on Bosch’s proven IMU platform. Its self-learning AI automatically adapts to new motion patterns without requiring manual intervention. Thanks to robust on-chip processing, developers can run custom machine learning models directly on the sensor. With Motion AI Studio, models can be easily deployed to enable personalized coaching, sport-specific feedback, or gesture-based interfaces.

The BHI385 comes in a compact 20-pin LGA package measuring just 2.5 × 3 × 0.95 mm³, allowing for seamless integration into space-constrained wearable designs.
